English Homework

Homework 25th November 2020 due in Monday 30th November 2020

Reading

The children will be given the opportunity to bring a supplementary and library book every Thursday.  We would like the children to read at least 3 times a week.  If they have completed their book from school- then they are able to read their books from home.  Please ensure that these texts are challenging enough for the children.  

There is a VIPERS booklet, with questions to ask the children after they have read to you.  Please comment on their reading and comprehension of the text.  

Please can you remind children to bring in their reading logs on Monday.  They will receive a credit for great reading.

New Reading E-books- Collins Big Cat

We have now purchased Collin Big Cat E-books that the children can use at home.  Please have a read of the attached Parent guide before you begin.  Children can then record their reading in their reading record.  

Children will all have their individual log in details to log onto their account.  

As this is a newly constructed online learning platform, please bear with us as we get to grips with utilising it too.

Spelling

Over the next few weeks, we will be revising previous year group's spellings and the Common Exception words.  We are aware that the children are all at different stages with their spellings, but we feel it is important to re-visit and practice previous spellings to increase their accuracy when they are doing independent writing.
