Houses

When the children start at Lytchett Matravers Primary School, they are put into one of three 'Houses'. These are:

Arundel (House colour, Yellow)

Trenchard (House colour, Green)

Maltravers (House colour, Blue)

In Year 6, a House Captain and Vice Captain are chosen through an application process.

The School 'Houses' link closely to our Schools' behaviour policy. Children can receive 'CREDITS' from teachers, for excellent work or behaviour. If they collect 10 credits they get a 'MERIT' certificate, which are celebrated in School assembly, this then equates to points towards their House.  These are carefully added up over the academic year.  In the last week of school a winning House is declared.

The children in that House will usually take part in a fun celebration!

During Sports Day, children also compete in their Houses. This is a separate event from the collection of points over the year, but from the Sports Day results a winning House is calculated and the House Captain and Vice Captain get to celebrate with the Sports Day trophy!
